Ikaros 2018: Preparations for the 41st edition of Ikaros are under way (16-22 July 2018)!

For one more year, Ikaros International Chess Tournament is preparing to welcome the chessplayers and all friends who will visit the beautiful island of Ikaria in order to combine an interesting chess tournament with relaxing vacations.

Ikaros tournament, that commenced in 1978 as a friendly encounted between local Ikaria players with some strong invited players and has now evolved to a trademark of the Greek summer tournament calendar, completes 41 consecutive years of tournaments this summer. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the reasonable prices and the cozy mood of Ikaria will be again present this year as well. The only difference will be the slight shift of the dates of the tournament towards mid-July (due to the shift of the Greek Premier League). So the 41st Ikaros International Chess Tournament will be held from 16 to 22 July 2018 (Monday to Sunday).

As every year, once more, the overall participation cost will be kept low. Prices will get even lower in case of triple of four bed rooms, while, as also every year, there are special discounts for families, juniors, club teams, unemployed and persons with disabilities. Moreover there are additional discounts for those who will pay in advance. Additionally, this year too, the organization committee will try to get reduced ferry ticket prices for the tournament participants. Special conditions will also be offered to a limited number of titled players. More details will be available in the official announcement that will be issued soon.

Ίκαρος 2018: Ξεκινούν οι προετοιμασίες για τον 41ο Ίκαρο (16-22/7/2018)!

Για ακόμη μια φορά το Διεθνές Σκακιστικό Τουρνουά Ίκαρος ετοιμάζεται να δεχτεί τους σκακιστές και του φίλους που θα προσέλθουν στο όμορφο νησί της Ικαρίας για να συνδυάσουν ένα ενδιαφέρον σκακιστικό τουρνουά με χαλαρές διακοπές.

Το τουρνουά, που ξεκίνησε το 1978 σαν μια φιλική συνάντηση μεταξύ των σκακιστών της Ικαρίας με ισχυρούς προσκεκλημένους σκακιστές για να εξελιχθεί σε σημείο αναφοράς στο θερινό σκακιστικό καλεντάρι, συμπληρώνει φέτος 41 συνεχόμενες διοργανώσεις. Το φιλικό κλίμα, η χαλαρή διάθεση, οι λογικές τιμές και η μοναδική αίσθηση της Ικαρίας θα είναι παρόντα και φέτος. Μόνη διαφορά η μικρή μετατόπιση των ημερομηνιών της διοργάνωσης προς τα μέσα Ιουλίου λόγω της διεξαγωγής του πρωταθλήματος Α' Εθνικής. Έτσι το 41ο Διεθνές Σκακιστικό Τουρνουά Ίκαρος θα διεξαχθεί το διάστημα 16 έως 22 Ιουλίου 2018 (Δευτέρα-Κυριακή).

Όπως κάθε χρονιά έτσι και φέτος το κόστος συμμετοχής θα είναι κατά το δυνατόν χαμηλό. Προβλέπονται μειωμένες τιμές για όσους προτιμήσουν τρίκλινο ή τετράκλινο δωμάτιο και φυσικά εκπτώσεις για οικογένειες, νέους, ομάδες σωματείων, ανέργους και άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες ενώ προβλέπονται επιπλέον εκπτώσεις για όσους προκαταβάλλουν τα έξοδα συμμετοχή τους. Επιπλέον, και φέτος η οργανωτική επιτροπή θα καταβάλει προσπάθεια ώστε οι τιμές των ακτοπλοϊκών εισιτηρίων για τους σκακιστές που θα ταξιδέψουν στην Ικαρία να είναι μειωμένες. Ειδικές συνθήκες και παροχές θα υπάρξουν και για περιορισμένο αριθμό τιτλούχων σκακιστών που θα συμμετάσχει στο τουρνουά. Λεπτομέρειες θα ανακοινωθούν με την επίσημη προκήρυξη του τουρνουά που θα κυκλοφορήσει σύντομα.
