Ενώ ο Ίκαρος 2017 πλησιάζει προς τα μισά της φετινής διαδρομής τους, οι παράλληλες εκδηλώσεις της διοργάνωσης συνεχίζονται με τη διεξαγωγή του 8ου Μεσογειακού Ομαδικού Τουρνουά Ράπιντ «Ίκαρος 2017» που θα διεξαχθεί την Πέμπτη 13 Ιουλίου 2017, στις 11.00 π.μ. στο Αθλητικό Κέντρο του Αγίου Κηρύκου. Για τις επόμενες μέρες προγραμματίζονται και άλλες παράλληλες όπως μια ιδιότυπη επίδειξη σιμουλτανέ λύσης προβλημάτων όπου, την Παρασκευή 14 Ιουλίου, ο Παγκόσμιος Πρωταθλητής στη λύση προβλημάτων Piotr Murdzia θα αντιμετωπίσει μια συνεργαζόμενη ομάδα λυτών σε έναν ιδιαίτερο διαγωνισμό λύσης προβλημάτων.

182 σκακιστές και σκακίστριες από 14 χώρες τιμούν με την παρουσία τους τα 40 χρόνια των Σκακιστικών Εκδηλώσεων «Ίκαρος». Το Ανοιχτό Διεθνές Πρωτάθλημα Αιγαίου «Ίκαρος 2017», το οποίο αποτελεί την κορωνίδα της φετινής διοργάνωσης, διεξάγεται από 9 έως 16 Ιουλίου στο Αθλητικό Κέντρο Αγίου Κηρύκου.

Εκπροσωπούνται όλα σχεδόν τα γεωγραφικά διαμερίσματα της Ελλάδας, η Κύπρος και 12 ξένες χώρες: Αρμενία, Βέλγιο, Βουλγαρία, Ισπανία, Καζαχστάν, Λευκορωσία, Ουκρανία, Πολωνία, Ρουμανία, Ρωσία, Σουηδία, Τσεχία.

Το ρεκόρ συμμετοχών συνοδεύεται και από ρεκόρ τιτλούχων. Αγωνίζονται 10 GM, 5 IM, 3 WIM και 7 FM. Οι 10 μεγάλοι μαιτρ κατά σειρά βαθμού αξιολόγησης είναι: Μπόρτνικ (Ουκρανία, 2585), Στούπακ (Λευκορωσία, 2570), Μ. Νικόλοβ (Βουλγαρία, 2561), Χαριτόνοβ (Ρωσία, 2558), Μπερνάντσκι (Ουκρανία, 2543), Ριτσαγκόβ (Ρωσία, 2536), Κοτρωνιάς (2489), Τοντόροβ (Βουλγαρία, 2473), Κοστένκο (Καζαχστάν, 2445), Βέλιτσκα (Τσεχία, 2441).

Το Σάββατο 8 Ιουλίου πραγματοποιήθηκαν ατομικοί αγώνες γρήγορου σκακιού. Τις πρώτες θέσεις στο ανοιχτό τουρνουά ράπιντ κατέλαβαν οι Σαράντος, Φρεντζάς, Χ. Μπάρδης (1ος έφηβος), Λάρκιν, Τέσκος (1ος Ικάριος), Κουβαράς, Μουρούτης, Α. Χατζηελευθερίου, Κ. Μίτσιου (αποτελέσματα εδώ).

Τις τρεις πρώτες θέσεις στο ράπιντ βετεράνων κατέκτησαν οι Καραγιάννης, Σερδάρης, Καραχισαρίδης (αποτελέσματα εδώ) και στο ράπιντ γυναικών οι Γούργαρη, Τσάβαρη και Α. Σαράντου (αποτελέσματα εδώ).

Το πρωί της Κυριακής οργανώθηκε τουρνουά μπλιτς.  Νικητής αναδείχθηκε  ο Σαράντος και ακολούθησαν στη βαθμολογία οι Λάρκιν, Κουβαράς, Χατζηιωαννίδη (πρώτη σκακίστρια), Μουρούτης, Γούργαρη, Χαλιορής κ.α. (αποτελέσματα εδώ)

Τις Διεθνείς Σκακιστικές Εκδηλώσεις «Ίκαρος 2017» διοργανώνουν ο Δήμος Ικαρίας και ο Σκακιστικός Όμιλος Ικαρίας, υπό της αιγίδα της Γενικής Γραμματείας Αθλητισμού και με χορηγό την ακτοπλοϊκή εταιρεία Hellenic Seaways.

Και μια σημαντική ανακοίνωση: Τα λεωφορεία προς το χώρο αγώνων θα αναχωρούν από τα Θέρμα 45 λεπτά πριν την έναρξη κάθε γύρου και από τον Άγιο Κηρυκο 15 λεπτά πριν την έναρξη κάθε γύρου.

182 chess players from 14 countries take part in the 40th edition of Ikaros International Chess Tournament. The Open Aegean Championship "Ikaros” 2017, which is the main event, is held from 9 to 16 July at the Sport Center of Aghios Kirykos at the island of Ikaria.

Almost all of the geographical areas of Greece, Cyprus and 12 foreign countries are represented: Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Spain, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic.

But, apart from the entries record, Ikaros also broke a titled players record: 10 GM, 5 IM, 3 WIM and 7 FM are competeing in the tournament. The top 10 players are: Bortnyk (Ukraine, 2585), Stupak (Belarus, 2570), M. Nikolov (Bulgaria, 2561), Kharitonov (Russia, 2558), Bernadskiy (Ukraine 2543) 2536), Kotronias (2489), Todorov (Bulgaria, 2473), Kostenko (Kazakhstan, 2445), Velicka (Czech Republic, 2441).

On Saturday, July 8th, three rapid tournaments were held. The first places in the Rapid Open tournament went to Sarantos, Frendzas, X. Bardis (1st junior), Larkin, Teskos (1st Ikarian player), Kouvaras, Mouroutis, A. Chatziselefteriou, K. Mitsiou. (See results here)

The first three positions in the Veterans’ Rapid went to Karagiannis, Serdaris, Karachiarchidis (results here) and in the Ladies’ Rapid to Gourgari, Tsavari and A. Sarantou (results here).

On Sunday morning a blitz tournament was organized. The winner was Sarantos, followed by Larkin, Kouvaras, Chatzioannidi (first lady), Mouroutis, Gourgari, Haloris and others (results here).

International Chess Tournament “Ikaros” 2017 is organized by the Municipality of Ikaria and the Ikaria Chess Club under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Sports and sponsored by Hellenic Seaways.

Καθώς το 40ο Διεθνές Όπεν "Ίκαρος" 2017 ξεκινά την Κυριακή 9/7 (και αναμένεται ισχυρότερο και πολυπληθέστερο από κάθε άλλη φορά), όσοι βρίσκονται ήδη στην Ικαρία θα έχουν την ευκαιρία για ένα καλό ζέσταμα συμμετέχοντας σε κάποιο από τα τέσσερα τουρνουά ράπιντ που θα διεξαχθούν το Σάββατο 8/7 στις 7.00 μ.μ. στο Αθλητικό Κέντρο του Αγίου Κηρύκου (χάρτης πρόσβασης εδώ). 

Τα τεσσερα τουρνουά είναι:

Για ακόμη μια χρονιά η ακτοπλοϊκή εταιρεία Hellenic Seaways, ανανέωσε τη συνεργασία της και την εμπιστοσύνη τις στις Διεθνείς Σκακιστικές Εκδηλώσεις "Ίκαρος" 2017 και θα είναι και φέτος χορηγός του τουρνουά. Έτσι η οργανωτική επιτροπή του "Ίκαρου" είναι στην ευχάριστη θέση να ανακοινώσει ότι θα υπάρξει έκπτωση στην τιμή των ακτοπλοϊκών εισιτηρίων για τη διαδρομή Πειραιάς-Ικαρία-Πειραιάς για όσους μεταβούν στην Ικαρία για το τουρνουά. Το ποσοστό της έκπτωσης είναι 50% για τα εισιτήρια επιβατών και 30% για τα εισιτήρια οχημάτων. Για όσους ενδιαφέρονται να κάνουν χρήση της προσφοράς, οι ενδεικτικές τιμές των εισιτηρίων ανά διαδρομή μετά την έκπτωση, διαμορφώνονται ως εξής:

Η έκπτωση ισχύει για τα εισιτήρια που θα κλειστούν μέσω της οργανωτικής επιτροπής του τουρνουά. Απαραίτητη για την έκδοση των εισιτηρίων είναι η έγκαιρη ενημέρωση της οργανωτικής επιτροπής και η προπληρωμή του κόστους έστω της μίας διαδρομής (μέσω κατάθεσης στον τραπεζικό λογ/μο της διοργάνωσης) το αργότερο μέχρι την Παρασκευή 30 Ιουνίου 2017. Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι θα πρέπει να αποστείλουν στο e-mail της διοργάνωσης (ikaroschess@gmail.com): ημερομηνία ταξιδιού, πλήρη ονόματα και τύπο θέσης για κάθε επιβάτη ενώ για τα οχήματα απαιτείται τύπος οχήματος και αριθμός κυκλοφορίας. Θα πρέπει επίσης να αποστείλουν το αποδεικτικό κατάθεσης της προπληρωμής εισιτηρίων.

Για τη παραλαβή των εισιτηρίων θα υπάρξει νεότερη ενημέρωση καθώς θα γίνει προσπάθεια φέτος τα εισιτήρια να εκδοθούν ηλεκτρονικά και να αποσταλούν με e-mail στους επιβάτες.

For one more year Hellenic Seaways has renewed its trust and cooperation with Ikaros International Chess Tournament 2017 and will be a sponsor of the tournament. So, it is with great pleasure that the organization committee of Ikaros 2017 announces that there will be a discount on ferry tickets for the route Piraeus-Ikaria-Piraeus to everyone who will travel to Ikaria for the tournament. The discount percentage is set at 50% for passenger tickets and 30% for vehicles. So, for those who are interested in making use of this offer, the indicative (one-way) ticket prices are set to:

The discount is valid only for ticket reservations made through the organization committee of the tournament. Participants wishing to take advantage of this offer should notify the organization committee on time and prepay (via bank transfer) at least the price of a one-way ticket until Friday 30th of June 2017 the latest. Those interested should send to the organization committee (ikaroschess@gmail.com) the following info: Date of travel, full name and seat type for each passenger while for vehicles the vehicle type (car, moto) and the plate number are needed. Moreover a copy of the deposit receipt should also be sent to the organization committee. 

There will be a new announcment regarding how the passengers will get their tickets. This year there will be an effort to issue e-tickets that will be sent to passengers by e-mail.

Ikaros 2017 - Ikaros prepares for his 40th flight!

This year is special for “Ikaros” since the tournament completes 40 consecutive editions spanning over five different decades! The event that commenced as a friendly tournament between local and invited players grew to become the most traditional summer open tournament in Greece attracting every year many Greek and foreign chessplayers who seek to combine an interesting tournament with relaxing vacations in one of the most beautiful and at the same time intriguing Greek islands, the island of Ikaria!

The 40th International Chess Tournament “Ikaros” 2017 will be held from Sunday 9th till Sunday 16th of July at Aghios Kirykos, the capital town of Ikaria and, as usual, will also include several other side events that will take place before (7-8 July, for those who will decide to arrive a bit earlier) but also during the tournament.

So “Ikaros” once more invites its Greek and foreign friends to visit the island of Ikaria and combine a competitive tournament with pleasant and non-expensive vacations. Ikaria, globally famous for its sense of relaxation and freedom that characterizes the island, with its unique landscapes, is undoubtedly an interesting destination that will satisfy those visitors who are looking for something unique and different away from main-stream tourist sites.

As every year, once more, the overall participation cost is kept low (the basic package per person in a double room costs 180 euros for the period 9-16 July and includes accommodation (the board expenses are not included), entry fee, daily transportation to the playing venue and transportation from and to the port of Evdilos, in case this is necessary due to the ferry schedule). Prices get lower in case of triple of four bed rooms, while, as also every year, there are special discounts for families, juniors, club teams, unemployed and persons with disabilities. Moreover there are additional discounts for those who will pay in advance. Additionally, this year too, the organization committee will try to get reduced ferry ticket prices for the tournament participants.

The tournament will be held in two groups: Group A for players with FIDE rating ≥ 1500 and Group B for players with FIDE rating ≤ 1600 (players between 1500 and 1600 can choose in which group they wish to play). Group A will play 9 rounds, while Group B will play 7 rounds so as that the So the schedule is a bit more relaxed and the participants have the opportunity to enjoy their holidays even more.

Additionally, like every year, several side events (rapid/blitz/blind tournaments, problem solving e.g.) during will take place before (7-8 July) as well as during the main tournament. This is a good reason to arrive at Ikaria earlier! The schedule of these events and further details will be announced in a complementary announcement.
