Ο Ούγγρος Προχάσκα (2585) και ο Τσέχος Βέλιτσκα
(2413) προηγούνται με 4 βαθμούς σε ισάριθμους αγώνες στο Ανοιχτό Διεθνές Πρωτάθλημα
Αιγαίου «Ίκαρος 2014». Οι δύο γκραν μετρ αποτελούν το πρώτο ζεύγος του 5ου
γύρου (Αθλητικό Κέντρο Αγίου Κηρύκου, 15 Ιουλίου ώρα 7 μ.μ.). Τα αμέσως επόμενα
ζεύγη συγκροτούνται από σκακιστές που συγκεντρώνουν 3,5 βαθμούς: Θεοχάρους (Κύπρος, 1724) - Χαϊράλλαχ (Λίβανος, 2296), Αλ. Κουκουφίκης (2266) – Γαζής (2214), Κ. Νικολαΐδης (2147) - Χούκχαμ

Οι 130 σκακιστές και σκακίστριες από
τις 14 χώρες, που τιμούν με την παρουσία τους τη φετινή διοργάνωση, συμμετέχουν
και στις πολύ ενδιαφέρουσες παράλληλες εκδηλώσεις (σκακιστικές και όχι μόνο).
Στο πλαίσιο προσπάθειας ενεργοποίησης
και ενημέρωσης γονέων, ο προπονητής και ψυχολόγος Ηλίας Κουρκουνάκης θα τους μιλήσει σήμερα Τρίτη 15 Ιουλίου ώρα 7
μ.μ. με θέμα «Σκάκι και παιδί».
Αύριο 16.7, ώρα 9 μ.μ., η καλλιτέχνις Μαριάννα Παγκαλή θα καθοδηγήσει παιδιά
να ζωγραφίσουν σκακιστικές φιγούρες και στις 11 μ.μ. η Ελευθερία Λαρδά θα διδάξει,
μικρούς και μεγάλους, παραδοσιακούς χορούς .
Την Πέμπτη 17.7, Επέτειος της
Απελευθέρωσης του νησιού, ο 7ος γύρος θα διεξαχθεί στις 11 το πρωί. Στις 6 μ.μ. θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Ομαδικό Μεσογειακό Ράπιντ και στις 9 μ.μ. θα οργανωθεί στην υπαίθρια
σκακιέρα Αγίου Κηρύκου ζωντανό σκάκι, με παιδιά να υποδύονται τα σκακιστικά
κομμάτια. Αμέσως μετά, οι σκακιστές και οι σκακίστριες θα δημιουργήσουν παρέες
και θα γευτούν μεζέδες, θα απολαύσουν ντόπιο κρασί, θα ακούσουν μουσική και θα
χορέψουν, μέχρι το πρωί, στο παραδοσιακό πανηγύρι
που οργανώνεται κάθε χρόνο στην Πλατεία Αγίου Κηρύκου.
Την Παρασκευή, ώρα 11 π.μ. θα γίνει ο Διαγωνισμός Λύσης Προβλημάτων. Το
Σάββατο, ώρα 10.30 π.μ. θα πραγματοποιηθεί ξενάγηση στο Λαογραφικό Μουσείο. Η τελετή
λήξης έχει προγραμματιστεί για την Κυριακή, στις 12 το μεσημέρι. Το
απόγευμα της ίδιας ημέρας οι φιλοξενούμενοι
σκακιστές και οι σκακίστριες θα αναχωρήσουν με το πλοίο «Νήσος Μύκονος» της
χορηγού ναυτιλιακής εταιρείας Hellenic Seaways.
Όπως κάθε χρονιά, η ευχή – υπόσχεση αναμένεται
να είναι: «του χρόνου, πάλι εδώ!».

The Hungarian GM Prohazska (2585) and the Czech
GM Velicka (2413) are leading with a perfect 4/4 after the 4th round of the
International Chess Tournament “Ikaros 2014”. The two GMs are facing each other on the
5th round thaτ is scheduled for the 15th of July at 7.00 pm. At the Sports
Center of Aghios Kirykos. In the following pairs we find players with 3.5 points: Theoharous (Cyprus, 1724)-Khairallah (Lebanon, 2296), Koukoufikis (Greece 2266)-Gazis (Greece,
2214) and Nikolaidis (Greece,
2147)-Hookham (Scotland 2014). The results and the pairing of all rounds so far
are available here.
The 130 participants
from 14 countries who honor this year’s Ikaros, do not only take part in the
tournament but are also actively involved in all in all side-events!
In this respect, this
evening (15/7) at 7.00 p.m. the trainer and psychologist Ilias Kourkounakis
will give a lecture on “Chess and kids” in an effort to motivate the local
parents and kids to get more active and involved with chess.
Tomorrow (16/7) at 9.00 p.m. the architect and artist
Marianna Pagali will show to the younger participants of the tournament how to
draw and create their own chess pieces, while a bit later, at 11.00 p.m. (yes,
this is p.m.) Eleftheria Larda will teach all participants Greek traditional
dances and particular how to dance “Ikariotikos” the famous dance of Ikaria!
On Thursday 17/7, the
day that Ikaria celebrates its liberation, the
7th round will start at 11.00
a.m. in the morning while in the afternoon, at 6.00 p.m.
the 5th Mediterranean Rapid Team Tournament will take place! A bit later, at
9.00 p.m. there will be a demonstration game with kids playing the role of
pieces at the central square of Aghios Kirykos and after that it’s time for the
“Panygiri” when the chess players will leave the boards and pieces aside to
taste the local food and wine, listen to traditional music and dance till the
sunrise the next morning!
On Friday (18/7) at 11.00 a.m. (this is in the
morning… :-)) there will be the Problem Solving Contest while on Saturday (19/7) at 10.30 a.m. there tournament
participants will enjoy a guided tour at the Cultural and Folk Museum of Ikaria.
The closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday (20/7) at noon, while the players depart
in the afternoon for Piraeus
with F/B “Nissos Mykonos” of Hellenic Seaways.
As every year, our wish
is the same as always: “We’ll meet again next year!”
